Like I often say, when in doubt, ask a botanist. What idiots. Name confusion is much more common because in Scotland oats is called “corn” which just means common cereal grain of the region, but try explaining that in North America. Amaizing.
I once had a packet of linseeds with a picture of a farmer loading bunches of flowering flax stems into a cart. Very picturesque, but I bet yields were a bit low. Wish I’d kept it – it made me laugh.
