Sing it loud, we’re two and proud.

How time flies while you’re having fun. Agro.agro.biodiver.se is two years old today. We’ve given ourselves and (we hope) you the gift of a fresh new look. ((Except for users of Internet Explorer, for whom it looks atrocious. I’ll fix this in about 10 hours. Meanwhile, get yourself a decent, standards-compliant browser.)) ((I think I fixed it, but I can’t be sure until someone checks and lets me know. I had to move the navigation menu above the header, which is not really where I want it, but it’ll do for a quick fix.))

I spent the afternoon upgrading the engine that powers this site, and that might have been a mistake. Two things don’t work. Latest Posts over on the right now shows Nibbles, those little collections of links. It shouldn’t, and it didn’t used to. I can’t figure that out right now. And the Map for geo-referenced posts doesn’t work either. That could be trickier to fix. But I won’t even be able to try for a week or so because I’m off on the road again. I hope everything else is working …

On the other hand, if you’re reading this on an iPhone or iPod Touch, you’ll be astounded. I claim no credit. It is all down to the geniuses who built WPtouch.

Apologies if you were having a little trouble reaching the site yesterday; so were we. Apparently the server that hosts agro.agro.biodiver.se was under attack from the forces of darkness, but they have now been repelled. We hope we can now resume normal service.

Update: things are almost back as they were, and that’s how I’m leaving them.

You may have noticed some changes here. They’re not my fault, honest.

I decided to upgrade to the new version of our software, and quite by chance discovered that nefarious actors had hacked the site. A cunning wheeze, designed to place links inside posts but not have anything visible on the outside. It took an awfully long time to clean up, and in the process I upgraded everything, so things should be more secure now. BUT …

I cannot seem to figure out how to get the two sidebars back as they were, one on either side of the main content. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t bother. Leave a comment to say whether you prefer this version or one on either side. If necessary, I’ll get back to that.

I also cannot make those dinky little bullet points show up when we have several items in a Nibble. that has to be fairly simple, but I fear that if I keep going at it now, gone midnight, I’ll make some even greater error.
