North America’s largest native edible fruit

What is it? Asimina triloba, apparently. There’s a workshop coming up in a couple of months, at Kentucky State. Anyone going?

Do we know who determined that the tomato was safe to eat as a fruit and when this determination was made?

I don’t have it with me, but Andrew Smith’s book called, I think, Livingstone and the Tomato tells you all this and more.
