I don’t understand what is happening.
That’s VIR’s Director General Nikolay Dzuybenko commenting on the Pavlovsk situation just a few days ago. I have to say I know how he feels. Anyway, keep up to date with all things VIR, including the Pavlovsk saga, on their website.
A little overlooked in the Pavlovsk discussing is that the Russian Housing Agency also is trying to take the 183 ha of land that comprise the Far East Experiment Station of VIR, near Vladivostock.
This has been a collection of very unique crops and flora found in the northern Far East (Pacific Coast). Here is the description from the VIR website:
We need to keep this important collection on the radar as we seek to increase protection of these collections from encroachment.
