I must say I was surprised to see this, here.

Pleasantly surprised.

Some very good news from Mohamed Amar, head of the Egyptian Deserts Gene Bank:
I can confirm that we have been rebuilding the Egyptian deserts gene bank in new form during the year and a half.

Luigi asked if anyone knew of people working specifically on surveys of PGR in the urban setting? Well although focused on wild plants rather than PGR, in 2008 BGCI published an issue of the BGjournal themed on urban biodiversity. A number of botanic gardens are involved in conserving the biodiversity of their local areas. You can take a look here: http://www.bgci.org/resources/bgjournal/
Scroll down to the July 2008 issue.
