As I’ve just nibbled, the Annals of Botany bloggers are at the 18th International Botanical Congress in Melbourne, and doing a great job of reporting on emerging issues. But there’s lot of other people there too, and many of them are tweeting. You can follow them all on the #IBC18 hashtag.

Nice to see that botany (let’s use the ‘old-fashioned’ name, eh?) is becoming fashionable again. We botanists are few and far between (although I guess I should really refer to myself as a ‘former’ botanist, having deserted hands-on botany for management/administration more than a decade ago.)

For myself, I can only say that rights have responsibilities attached to them, and I don’t see plants or animals fulfilling their responsibilities.
