  1. With all that focus on producing roots for processing into various powders and potions, one has to wonder what that means for the future of this crop. There can’t be much selection going on for food value, which means that the quality of maca as a staple is probably in decline even though they are growing more than ever. When the bubble bursts, will Peru have lost more than just control of the seed supply?
