Within days of each other, surveys have been announced on Who is working on agricultural biodiversity? and On-farm management of PGRFA. I don’t know if there’s a connection between the two. Is something brewing out there? I think we should be told.

Agrobiodiversity is crops, livestock, foodways, microbes, pollinators, wild relatives …
Within days of each other, surveys have been announced on Who is working on agricultural biodiversity? and On-farm management of PGRFA. I don’t know if there’s a connection between the two. Is something brewing out there? I think we should be told.
There is no strong connection between the two surveys.
The first survey is one of several approaches to get a more comprehensive overview of who is working on agricultural biodiversity in the broadest possible sense. Very few questions are asked. The goal is just an inventory, for which this survey is one source.
The second one is specifically aiming at getting some input for the design of a global in situ and on-farm conservation network. It has a longer questionnaire that tries to learn a bit about the status of the topic in different countries and people’s opinions.
