There’s an important post entitled Vegetables of Mass Destruction over at The Daily Kos, a blog. Important not so much for the content, most of which is familiar, well-meaning and just a tad parochial, but for the location. The Daily Kos is one of the most popular sites in the blogosphere, averaging around half a million visits a day. If just some of those readers go away with a slightly better appreciation of the value of agricultural biodiversity, that will be A Good Thing. So thanks to cookiebear and The Daily Kos for their support.
Thanks, agro!
Yes, it is parochial, but I hesitated to go too far — I worry about people getting either overwhelmed by the subject and therefore not doing a thing – or going into the “yea, right” mode.
But it’s such an important issue and I barely even touched the surface.
I am thrilled to learn about this blog! I am a wannabe farmer-ecologist – even botanist and wildlife biologist :=D – and strongly believe the more information we can get out there on this subject, the better.
And I would love to see some series on dKos written by someone who really knows what they’re talking about.
The Vegetables of Mass Destruction series is very popular — I posted that diary simply as a part of the series, but boy, I know the person who started it would love to have someone who really knows their biodiversity write for it.
::hint hint::
Her username at dKos is OrangeClouds115 – do you mind if I point her over here and strongly suggest to her that maybe the subject needs much more in-depth coverage — not to mention, fits perfectly with the series? Would you be willing to write something for the series?
