- Resistance to coffee rust found in India, though not clear where. Now for the hard part …

- Those Mayans were boffo agricultural engineers.
- “Alcohol-free” cannabis. I don’t understand any of this.
- A gene associated with flowering time has alleles associated with a rainfall gradient. h/t Jacob. Cool.
The headline seems to be the only part of the Russian cannabis story that mentions alcohol. Maybe they really mean “intoxicant” or something? Regardless, I thought that Canadian researchers had already developed cannabis strains without THC, for use as oilseeds. Maybe another case of the word not getting to other parts of the world?

Jeremy, the Romanian “payments for ecosystem services” conference was held in September, but points to policy (?) post-2013. As in: “Securing the ecosystem services of European farming post 2013”.
Presumably, that’s when the payments begin to roll in.
Sorry about that, and thanks for the correction. Not to defend myself, but the timeframe wasn’t obvious ….
