Wild coffee in Ethiopia: Is this Coffea arabica a CWR? I don’t know the answer to this. If it is the same species it is not a `relative’ – it’s the same thing (or is it?). This must happen all the time with horticultural ornamentals: first taken into cultivation as the wild type (as with most Rhododendrons) then selected for various features of value, whilst staying the same species.
