  1. `Cross-species hybridization’ in date palms (that is, between Phoenix dactylifera and P. theophrasti). But possibly not cross-species. The last monograph of Phoenix was Sasha C. Barrow 1998 A Monograph of Phoenix L. (Palmae: Coryphoideae). Kew Bulletin, 53, 513-575. Barrow wrote (p. 553) “Phoenix dactylifera and P. theophrasti are poorly differentiated species and I consider the species status of P. theophrasti to be in doubt”. But even if they are the same species, the theophrasti bit is still a CWR.
